Ludhiana : Punjab’s most expensive Ladowal toll plaza is going to be completely closed today. Today, on Sunday, at 11 am, farmer groups will lock the cabins of this toll. Farmers have kept the toll plaza free for the last 15 days. More than 6 lakh drivers have passed through it without paying tax.
People have saved about Rs 16 crore. Giving information, Dilbagh Singh Gill, head of Bharatiya Kisan Mazdoor Union, said that the rates of this toll were the highest. In this protest, he has also got full support of Bharatiya Kisan Union Doaba. Many taxi drivers are also giving full support.
Appeal to people to cooperate in closing the toll
From common man to businessmen, everyone had to pass through this toll by paying heavy tax. Dilbagh Singh has appealed to the people that everyone must participate in the lockout program today. He has also appealed to the nearby rural residents to cooperate in closing this toll.
Dilbag Singh said that he has asked the toll officials and NHAI several times to tell the time limit of this toll but not any official is responding. The direct reason for this is that the time period of this toll has expired. Illegal collection is being done from the people. Today the toll will be locked and it will be closed forever.
