Punjab's most expensive toll plaza Ladowal is closed for the last 5 days. Today, on the 6th day, farmers are raising slogans against the central government. More than 1.75 lakh vehicles have passed without paying toll tax. NHAI has suffered a loss of about Rs 5 crore.

Ludhiana: Punjab’s most expensive toll plaza Ladowal is closed for the last 5 days. Today, on the 6th day, farmers are raising slogans against the central government. More than 1.75 lakh vehicles have passed without paying toll tax. NHAI has suffered a loss of about Rs 5 crore.

NHAI seems helpless in front of the protesting farmers. No officer is reaching to talk to the farmers. The employees working on toll tax are absolutely free without work.

The drivers passing through the toll are thanking the protesting farmers. The farmers are adamant on their demand that the toll should be Rs 150 per vehicle, but the NHAI officials are ignoring the demands of the farmers.

Due to this, the number of farmers at Ladowal toll plaza is gradually increasing. Even today, many villagers from nearby areas have started joining the farmers. The number of people in the protest is increasing continuously.

Farmers are ready to face every difficulty

Dilbag Singh, head of Bharatiya Kisan Mazdoor Union, said that today the struggle has reached the 6th day. The government is not listening to us. Farmers are ready to face every difficulty to stop the looting of people. If the government thinks that the farmers will end the protest themselves in a week or a few days, then it is the government’s mistake.

Farmers are not afraid of the government’s anti-people policies. Dilbag said that the farmers who plough their fields in the summer are ready to fight every struggle to stop the looting of people. Police personnel and security agencies try to convince them every day, but the farmers are not going to listen to anyone now. The convoy of protests is increasing continuously. Increasing the rates three times in a year is not fair.
