According to the Indian Meteorological Department, favorable conditions are being created for the advancement of southwest monsoon in Gujarat, Madhya Pradesh, Vidarbha, Chhattisgarh, Odisha, Sub-Himalayan West Bengal and Sikkim in the next 24 hours and in West Bengal, Jharkhand, Bihar and eastern Uttar Pradesh in the next two days.

The monsoon is currently running one week ahead of schedule. If the speed of monsoon remains the same, then monsoon will reach Punjab by the end of this month.

According to the Meteorological Department, the effect of western disturbance is being seen in North India. Which has issued a yellow alert for rain today in 8 districts of Punjab, Patiala, Mohali, Rupnagar, Nawanshahr, Fatehgarh Sahib, Hoshiarpur, Gurdaspur and Pathankot.

Winds are blowing at a speed of 40 kmph here. According to the Meteorological Department, gradually the weather may become active again in Hoshiarpur, Mohali, Pathankot, Nawanshahr and surrounding areas.

Today, the average maximum temperature of the state has dropped by 1.9 ° C. The highest temperature of 37.5 ° C has been recorded in Amritsar and Gurdaspur. In the last 24 hours, a drop of 2-5 degrees in temperature was observed at most places.
