Jalandhar: Dr. Ashok Kumar Mittal, Member of Parliament and founder Chancellor of Lovely Professional University (LPU), has been nominated as a Member of the prestigious Council of Schools of Planning and Architecture (SPA). This appointment, made in a regular vacancy by the Chairman of Rajya Sabha, Jagdeep Dhankhar, underlines Dr. Mittal’s commitment to education and excellence in planning and architecture.
Expressing his gratitude for the nomination, Dr. Mittal emphasized the significance of his role in the Council, stating, “It is a great privilege for me to serve as a member of the SPA Council. I am committed to fostering innovation and excellence in education, ensuring a brighter future for the youth of our nation through strategic urban planning and visionary programs. Urban Planning and design assumes immense importance in view of the rise in urbanisation and urban migration.”
Dharmendra Pradhan, Minister of Education, Government of India and Chairperson of SPA Council, extended his warm wishes, recognizing Dr. Mittal’s valuable expertise and vision for educational development.
The School of Planning and Architecture has been created through an Act of Parliament and are the premier institutions for architecture in India.
Currently, School of Planning and Architecture has three campuses, which are situated in New Delhi, Bhopal and Vijaywada.
These are Institutions of national importance, and stand at the forefront of imparting education in planning, architecture, and design. With a focus on various facets of human habitat and environment, SPA offers comprehensive training at multiple levels.
