Chandigarh: In a significant administrative reshuffle, the Governor of Punjab has appointed Ravi Bhagat,IAS (2006), as the new Principal Secretary to the Chief Minister of Punjab. Bhagat, who was previously serving as the Special Principal Secretary to the Chief Minister will now assume this elevated role.
In addition to his new responsibilities, Ravi Bhagat will continue to hold the additional charge as the Administrative Secretary of the Public Works Department (Building Roads). Furthermore, he has been entrusted with the role of the Secretary of the Punjab Rural Development Board.
Three Principal Secretaries were changed in three years
No information has been revealed yet about who has been appointed as Special Principal Secretary in place of IAS Ravi Bhagat. CM Bhagwant Mann assumed the post of CM of Punjab in March 2022. Since he became the CM, three Principal Secretaries have been changed so far.
