Chandigarh: Union Minister of State for Railways and Food Processing, Ravneet Singh Bittu, on Tuesday has launched a fierce attack on Punjab Chief Minister Ahagwant Mann, calling for the immediate cancellation of controversial appointments of two Delhi-based Aam Aadmi Party (AAP) leaders to top posts in Punjab.

Bittu in a video available with The Savera times, accused CM Mann of compromising Punjab’s autonomy by allowing Reena Gupta and Deepak Chauhan both closely linked to AAP’s Delhi leadership to assume critical roles in the state’s administration.

“This is nothing short of betrayal,” Bittu said. “Both appointees are outsiders with no emotional or administrative stake in Punjab.”

He also claimed that Manish Sisodia and Satyendar Jain despite facing legal troubles are still remotely controlling Punjab’s governance.

Bittu highlighted what he called the Chief Minister’s hypocrisy, saying, “On one hand, Mann talks of protecting Punjab’s water from Haryana. On the other, he hands over key institutions to outsiders. This doublespeak must end.”

Issuing a stern ultimatum, Bittu said if the appointments are not rolled back immediately, he will lead street protests starting outside the Chief Minister’s residence.

“These appointments insult every proud Punjabi. We won’t accept Delhi’s remote control over Punjab. This is a battle for our self-respect, and we are ready to take it to the streets,” he declared.
