Ludhiana: A 20-year-old BA student accused her father for allegedly molesting her for the past few months. The police have booked the accused, who is a restaurant owner.
According to the complaint, she had shared about it with her grandfather as well as with her aunt (father’s sister) while seeking help but they took the side of her father.
The complainant added that in spite of helping her, her relatives informed her father about the complaint following which her father thrashed her and locked her as well as her mother in a room.
The complainant said that her father locked her and her mother in the room on July 18 following which she managed to inform her maternal uncle who rescued her the next day. Later, the complainant submitted a complaint with the police.
According to the police, the accused have fled after locking the house in New GK Estate.
Investigating Officer ASI Dinesh Kumar stated that a case under sections 75(1) (physical contact and advances involving unwelcome and explicit sexual overtures), 127(2) (wrongfully confines any person), 115(2) (voluntarily causing hurt) of BNS has been registered against the accused at Jamalpur police station and manhunt has been launched to arrest the accused.
