Kapurthala, May 18: In Begowal of Kapurthala, robbers snatched a Swift car from a mother and daughter at gunpoint. The incident happened on the night of 15th May at around 8 pm. The mother and daughter stopped the car to buy vegetables, when two miscreants came. They fled with the car at gunpoint.
According to the information, Rupinder Kaur had gone to Begowal with her daughter Kamalpreet Kaur in the car to buy some groceries. When they stopped to buy vegetables at Satguru Rakha Chowk, two unknown youths came. One of the youths came on behalf of the daughter and got the window of the car opened.
He was forced out of the car at gunpoint
He pointed the pistol at Kamalpreet’s head. The other youth came from the mother’s side and pointed the pistol at her head too. The robbers threatened to kill both of them and asked them to get out of the car. The mother and daughter had their purse and mobile, but the house keys and other belongings were left in the car. As soon as both of them got out, the robbers fled with the car.
After snatching the car, they looted cash from others
DSP Bhullath Karnail Singh said that Begowal police has registered a case. He said that after snatching the car, these robbers looted another 50 thousand rupees in Ghuman-District Gurdaspur. Police of both the districts are conducting raids to arrest the robbers.
