Shiromani Akali Dal (SAD) MP from Bathinda, Punjab, Harsimrat Kaur Badal has sent a private bill to the Parliament to make MSP a legal guarantee on all crops. She says that farmers need time to save their loans. This should be done according to the recommendations of the Swaminathan Commission.
It has been demanded to ensure 50 percent profit from the comprehensive cost of production. The farmers of the country are unhappy because they are getting only 30 percent of the price paid by the consumer. She said that she appeals to all parties to support the bill to provide security to the farmers and to encourage their income.
Talking about same, SAD Chief Sukhbir Singh Badal in post said, “In a historic step to secure the fundamental rights of ‘annadata’, Shiromani Akali Dal MP Harsimrat Kaur Badal has sent a private member to Parliament to present a bill to legal guarantee the Minimum Support Value (MSP) of all crops.”
Earlier yesterday (Monday), MPs of other parties of Punjab including Harsimrat Kaur Badal met the farmers in Delhi. These included MPs of AAP and Congress. She assured the farmers that she is with them at every step. Also, efforts will be made from her side so that the farmers do not face any kind of problem and get their rightful.
