Saint Ravidas’s teachings are still relevant today: Tarun Chugh

Amritsar : Bharatiya Janata Party General Secretary Tarun Chugh garlanded Saint Guru Ravidas Ji on his birth anniversary. In a statement issued to the media, he said that Guru Ravidas was a very important philosopher and thinker of the Bhakti period. Even today, this important saint of the Bhakti period is given a lot of respect not only in the country but in the world.

Chugh said that Saint Ravidas ji gave great importance in freeing the society from discrimination and showing a new direction.
Saint Ravidas ji was a great saint, philosopher, poet, social reformer and follower of God of the 15th century. He was an important saint in the Nirguna sect i.e. saint tradition.

Chugh said that Saint Ravidas ji was in the eyes of the people as a ‘messiah’ who fulfilled their social and spiritual needs. His teachings are still heard in the society in the country and the world, especially in Punjab he is remembered for his devotional movement and religious songs.
