Principal commits suicide due to frustration with teachers

Chandigarh: In the Sangrur district of Punjab, Principal Dharamvir, posted in the village of Bakhora Kalan, committed suicide by drinking poison after getting fed up with his fellow teachers. It is alleged that he was being harassed for a long time.

Meanwhile, police have registered a case against five teachers, including the district head of DTF in this case. The accused teachers include Harbhagwan Singh, Meghraj Singh, Satwant Singh, Vinod Kumar, and DTF head Balbir Singh. A case of forcing someone to commit suicide has been registered against all of them at the police station in Moonak.

In the complaint given to the police, the wife said that they got married 20 years ago. When her husband did not reach the school after dropping her on Wednesday morning, she came to know that he had consumed some poisonous substances. He was admitted to Tohana Hospital in critical condition. She reached there after that.

During this time in the hospital, her husband told her that since March 2024, teachers posted in the school—Har Bhagwan Singh, Meghraj Singh, Satwant Singh, Vinod Kumar, and DTF head Balbir Singh—were harassing him. Her husband died during treatment.
