Sangrur: 8 patients have fled from the drug de-addiction center located in village Ghabdan of Sangrur district in Punjab. While fleeing, the accused attacked the policeman Malkit Singh and a nurse posted there in the center. During this, Malkit Singh fainted and was admitted to the hospital. At the same time, the police are now engaged in locating the accused on the run. Various teams of police are investigating the case.
Patients on run are drug addicts
It has been learned that all the accused who fled from the drug de-addiction center were caught in NDPS cases. Apart from this, they were also drug addicts. The police had left them in the rehabilitation center for de-addiction. Meanwhile, the accused planned to escape and fled, injuring the police constable. The incident took place when they were being given medicine and roti.
Attacked police employee and nurse
The accused first attacked the nurse and tried to escape. Police employee Malkit Singh said that he and other people present there tried to stop them, but the accused attacked him too. He was grabbed by the neck and was hit on his legs.
Although the staff tried hard, 8 people escaped from the center. After this, the injured were admitted to the hospital. The matter has been brought to the notice of senior officials and the police have registered a case in this matter.
