Samrala: The people of Samrala Constituency have shown record-breaking unanimity regarding panchayat elections. Under this Panch, Sarpanch have been unanimously elected in 54 villages out of 178 villages. According to the information received, panchayat members have been unanimously elected in 10 villages out of 62 villages in Samrala block. There, Sarpanch has been elected in 3 villages with consensus and elections will be held for Panchi.
57 village sarpanchs were elected unanimously, while 52 villages, will undergo election. In 52 villages, 123 persons have filled the forms for Sarpanchi and 352 persons have filled the forms for Panchi.
If we talk about sub-division Samrala, in 124 villages out of 178 villages, candidates have been allotted election symbols by EC. 328 candidates are contesting the Sarpanch election in these villages while 1240 are in the fray as panchayat members. Their fate will be decided by voters on October 15.
Talking about Samrala Constituency, if we look at the past history, there have never been such general meetings till date. This time there was enthusiasm among the people for the Sarb Samitas because Chief Minister Bhagwant Singh Maan promised to give other facilities to the panchayats elected by the Sarb Samita besides a special grant of 5 lakh rupees, the people rose above the political level in the villages and made this decision.
According to the information received, the villages in which the general meetings were held were Rahimabad Kalan, Jharondi, Udhowal Khurd, Kakrala Kalan, Kakrala Khurd, Chuhdpur, Machhiwada Kham, Tandi, Kamalpur, Nurpur Mand, Bhorla Bet, Mand Khanpur, Mand Sherian, Melewal, Muglewal, Chakali Manga). Saini, Chak Lohat, Sensowal Kalan, Milkowal, Isapur, Rudenwal, Mand Jodhwal, Papparoddi, Bardhala, Dabala, Nauldi Kala, Nilo Khurd, Shamgarh, Seh, Bondal, Bagli Khurd are also included.
