Bus and bike collide in Amritsar: Multiple injuries reported

5 people were riding on a motorcycle; 3 including a girl died, and one woman was injured. 

Amritsar: A school bus collided with a bike near Punga village of Ajnala in Amritsar, Punjab. 5 people were riding on the bike. Three of them died, while a two-year-old child survived, but his mother was seriously injured. The villagers badly broke the school van in anger. The police have started action based on the statements of the family.

Yousuf, the eldest son of the deceased family, said that he got engaged a few months ago. His brother, mother, sister-in-law, and nephew-niece were going to his in-laws’ house on a bike to celebrate the festival of Sawan. They had just reached Punga village when the school bus hit their bike from behind. In which his brother, mother, and three-year-old niece died.

His sister-in-law and two-year-old nephew were also on the bike. Bhabhi’s condition is critical, and her two-year-old nephew narrowly escaped. At the time of the incident, there were students on the school bus. They were safely taken off.

After the incident, the villagers also gathered at the spot. They immediately put the injured on the bus and took them to the hospital. But three were declared brought dead. While the condition of a woman remains critical. When the family members of the deceased gathered at the hospital, they started vandalizing the school van.

SHO Lakhwinder Singh, who reached the hospital for investigation, said that the bus of Shri Guru Angad Dev School was going to drop the students. During this time, it hit the bike from behind. The person driving the bike, his mother, and a 3-month-old girl have died in the incident.

A woman is seriously injured and is undergoing treatment. An attempt was made to break the school bus, but the police took immediate action and took care of the family. The driver of the school bus was also safely taken to the police station. Appropriate action will be taken after the investigation.
