Search operation against drugs in Amritsar

Amritsar: A search operation was conducted in Amritsar, Punjab, on Friday morning after the instructions of DGP Gaurav Yadav. This operation started at 5 a.m. in those areas where most cases of drug smuggling have been reported. The police raided Gate Hakiman, Gujjarpura, Ghanpur Kale, Annagarh, Kapatgarh, and Maqboolpura areas of Amritsar in the morning. More than 1,000 police personnel have been deployed in this search operation.

Amritsar Police Commissioner Ranjit Singh Dhillon said that this search operation has been started against drugs. He said that this search operation has been conducted on the orders of the DGP. In this search, those areas were selected where more cases of drug abuse have been reported. At present, the search is going on; soon, information about recovery and the arrested accused will be shared.

ADGP MF Farooqui was also present during this time. This entire search operation was carried out under his supervision. ADGP Farooqi also appealed to the people to give detailed information about drug smugglers. At the same time, during this operation, three smugglers were also arrested with 30 grams of heroin.

According to police sources, this search operation was kept completely confidential. Its preparations were completed at night itself. In the morning, the teams were informed about the location. The teams reached the areas around 5 a.m. and started the search operation in the possible areas.

The Police Commissioner himself is reviewing this search operation so that there is no mistake. It is worth noting that this search operation has been done within 48 hours of the transfer of a large number of police personnel.

Continuous search operations are going on throughout Punjab. According to police records, 246 big drug smugglers are currently out of jail due to bail or other reasons. These smugglers try to strengthen their network as soon as they come out. That is why these search operations are being conducted so that, apart from these smugglers, their network can also be broken.
