Amritsar: Punjab Police is on alert regarding security arrangements for Republic Day in Amritsar. ADGP Traffic AS Rai visited Amritsar on the directions of DGP Punjab and reviewed security arrangements with Police Commissioner Gurpreet Singh Bhullar.
The ADGP inspected Chheharta and Islamabad police stations, where he checked the camera systems and access control arrangements. Preparations for the Republic Day celebrations at Gandhi Maidan were also reviewed. Particularly, the Night Domination Operation being carried out by Amritsar Police, which is being conducted under the leadership of DCP, ADCP and ACP, was appreciated.
The ADGP also mentioned the achievements of last year, including the recovery of 128 kg heroin by Amritsar Police. He made it clear that no illegal activity will be tolerated in the city and Republic Day will be celebrated with full security. Special checking drives were also carried out at the bus stand and railway station to further strengthen the security arrangements.
