Setback to Jaswant Singh Gajjan Majra as SC adjourns hearing on plea till June 10

According to ED, Gajjan Majra is accused of money laundering of Rs 41 crore.

The hearing in the SC on the plea of AAP MLA Jaswant Singh Gajjan Majra in the money laundering case has been adjourned till June 10. Jaswant Singh has also sought interim bail challenging his arrest in this case. ED has filed its reply in court regarding this AAP MLA plea.

Let us tell you that AAP MLA Jaswant Singh Gajjan Majra was arrested by the Enforcement Directorate (ED) in connection with the investigation of the money laundering case related to bank fraud. 60-year-old Gajjan Majra was arrested in an alleged case under the Prevention of Money Laundering Act (PMLA).

The said case was registered against Jaswant Singh Gajjanmajra last year. A senior official of ED has confirmed this arrest. According to ED, Gajjan Majra is accused of money laundering of Rs 41 crore.

In September 2022, the ED raided Jaswant Singh Gajjanmajra’s house, as well as a cattle fodder factory and a school run by his family at Amargarh. The ED had registered a case against him under the PMLA after the Central Bureau of Investigation (CBI) searched his properties in a bank fraud case of Rs 40.92 crore last year.

Jaswant Singh Gajjanmajra is an Aam Aadmi Party MLA from Amargarh constituency in Malerkotla district. Earlier, Gajjan Majra had contested the Punjab Vidhan Sabha election in 2017 from Amargarh Constituency on the Lok Insaf Party of Bains brothers of Ludhiana. But he lost to Congress candidate Surjit Singh Dhiman.
