Setback to Ram Rahim as government gives permission to prosecute sacrilege cases

If necessary in the future, he can also be questioned.

Chandigarh: Deramukhi Gurmeet Singh Ram Rahim’s problems have increased. The Punjab government has been permitted to prosecute him in three cases related to blasphemy. Now his hearing will be held in Faridkot court. If necessary in the future, he can also be questioned.

The government has taken this decision at a time when the Supreme Court lifted the stay imposed by the Punjab and Haryana High Court on the hearing of blasphemy cases. Also, a notice has been issued to the Dera chief in this case and a response has been sought within four weeks.

The issue of blasphemy was also raised in the Punjab Vidhan Sabha. Congress legislators had raised this issue. They said that Deramukhi’s file has been lying in the Chief Minister’s Office for nearly two and a half years but it is not being approved by the government.

Along with this, Aam Aadmi Party MLA Kunwar Vijay Pratap Singh also raised this issue in the Vidhan Sabha. However, CM Bhagwant had clearly said that new facts have come to light in this case. Also, appropriate action will be taken in this case.
