Chandigarh, July 21: Now working women and girls will not have to run around offices to complain about sexual harassment. The Chandigarh Police has launched a portal called SHe-Box (Sexual Harassment Electronic Box), where any woman can register her complaint from home.
The complaint made on this portal will be investigated under the supervision of a DSP rank officer, so that the seriousness of the matter will be maintained and the action will also be expedited.
The Union Ministry of Women and Child Development has launched this portal especially to prevent sexual harassment at the workplace and ensure the safety of women.
Women from both the government and private sectors can register complaints through this portal, and the government aims to take prompt action on every complaint so that women can get justice and feel safe.
Know how you can complain
First of all open the website of Chandigarh Police. The option of She-Box portal will appear in it.
Register Complaint: On the home page, “Register Your Complaint” will be written in red color. Click on it.
Complaint Registration: After this you will reach the complaint registration page.
Click on “Register Complaint” here.
Two options will appear – Central Government Office and State Government Office. You have to click on Central Government Office.
Personal details: Now you will get the option to fill in details like name, mobile number, email, job status, incident details and proof.
After filling all the details click on “Review & Submit”.
There is no discrimination
The biggest feature of this law and portal is that it includes every type of woman – whether she is a government employee, a contract worker, a domestic worker or a temporary worker in an office. If a woman is subjected to indecency, mental harassment, threats or any uncomfortable environment at any place, she can directly complain on this portal.
Email and mobile number required
To lodge a complaint on the SHe-Box portal, the woman must have a valid email ID and mobile number. The complaint can be lodged by clicking on “Register your Complaint” on the home screen of the portal. User guide and FAQ (frequently asked questions) are also provided on the portal.
