Shocking: Topper of 2017 batch student of MAMC commits suicide

It is not yet clear in the police investigation that why the youth took such a hard step and ended his life.

New Delhi: In a shocking incident, NEET topper of 2017 batch of Punjab, a resident of Sri Muktsar Sahib, committed suicide on Sunday. His body was found hanging from a noose in a room of the Parsi Anjuman Dharamshala in Delhi. The deceased was pursuing MD from the Radiology Department at Maulana Azad Medical College in Delhi. The police have not recovered any suicide note from the spot.

As soon as the incident was reported, the deceased’s entire family reached Delhi. The police have handed over the body to the family after conducting the post-mortem. It is not yet clear in the police investigation that why the youth took such a hard step and ended his life.

The news of suicide has left the family devasted. The family said that Navdeep was very close to his family and there was no such tension or dispute which would make him take such a huge step. The deceased was the topper of the 2017 batch of NEET.

He lived in the Parsi Dharamshala. On Sunday morning, when he had not come out of the room for a long time, the guard knocked on the door. After waiting for a long time, when there was no response from inside, the guard broke the door of the room with the help of other people. To complete shocker,  He had hanged himself from the fan. The guard immediately informed the police about this.

When the police reached the spot, his mobile was found lying there. The police took the mobile in their possession and sent it to the lab for forensic investigation. The police interrogated his friends in the medical college, but the reason for his suicide was not revealed.

His senior doctor said that he was very good in studies. After completing his MBBS from Maulana Azad College, he took admission to MD Course and was in second year.

The deceased’s father Gopal Singh is the principal of a government school. His mother Simranjit Kaur works in a life insurance company. He also has a younger brother, who is studying MBBS from a college in Chandigarh.
