Amidst the continuous increase in onion prices, now people will get onions at just Rs 35 per kg from today. This supply of onions at cheap prices by the Consumer Affairs Department will be given from shop number 78 of Maksudan Sabzi Mandi on Tuesday, 8 October. This supply will start from 9 am and will continue till the said stock of onions is finished.
For getting onions at Rs 35 per Kg people will have to show their Adhaar card. One person can get maximum of 4 kg of onions at Rs 35 per Kg.
According to traders, most of the onion crop used to come from Nashik and Rajasthan. But now the crop had stopped coming there. Due to this the rates increased. Therefore, speculations of a fall in prices were being made only after the delivery of onions from Afghanistan.
