Former Punjab minister Bikramjit Singh Majithia has been summoned again by the Special Investigation Team in the drugs racket case worth crores. Majithia has been ordered to appear on March 17. It is worth noting that the Supreme Court has recently given a big verdict in the drug case related to Bikram Singh Majithia. The court has ordered Majithia to appear before the Special Investigation Team on March 17, 2025.
The verdict was pronounced by a bench of the Supreme Court on March 4 (Tuesday). Bikram Majithia has been embroiled in a drug-related case for a long time. In which he is accused of being involved in drug smuggling and related activities. The case is being investigated by the Special Investigation Team of Punjab Police. The recent orders of the Supreme Court have made it clear that Majithia should appear before the SIT on the scheduled date to cooperate in the investigation.
After coming to power in Punjab, the AAP government led by CM Bhagwant Mann changed the Special Investigation Team of this case. The new team is working under the supervision of IG Gursharan Singh Sandhu. IPS officer S. Rahul has been made the head of this SIT.
The team includes AIG Ranjit Singh Dhillon, DSP Raghuveer Singh and DSP Amarpreet Singh. The previous SIT was formed under the leadership of AIG Balraj Singh. Akali Dal had made serious allegations against Majithia of getting promotion for his son in exchange for the case.
