Amritsar, May 2: Amritsar Rural Police has arrested six accused in a major operation. Police have recovered two pistols, 21 live cartridges, fake currency worth two lakh rupees, two Splendor motorcycles and five mobile phones from them.
This action was taken on the instructions of DIG Border Range Satinder Singh and SSP Maninder Singh. This action was taken on the basis of secret information received by the Special Cell under the leadership of Captain Aditya Warrior and DSP Maninderpal Singh.
Identification of the arrested accused
The arrested accused include Ashish Kumar, Vishal, Karandeep Singh of Tarn Taran, Kashmir Singh of Islamabad, Arshdeep Singh of Lahori Mal and Jashandeep Singh of Tarn Taran. The police had received information that these people were planning to commit a crime with illegal weapons.
The police have registered a case against the accused under the Arms Act. During interrogation, the other connections of the accused are being investigated. The police say that action will be taken against anyone whose involvement is revealed in the investigation.
