Six-year-old girl raped, murdered in Ludhiana, Police arrest accused on run

The incident triggered panic in the area and the police including the senior officials rushed to the site after learning about the incident and initiated an investigation.

Ludhiana: In less than 24 hours, Police arrested the accused who was on the run after the rape and murder of a six-year-old girl in  Ludhiana. Yesterday, A 6-year-old girl was found dead and her naked body was found wrapped in a blanket on the tin roof of a factory in the Moti Nagar area of Ludhiana. It is being suspected that the minor girl was sexually assaulted before being murdered.

ADCP-4 Prabhjot Singh Virk said that full details of the case will be given through a press conference today. Police of Moti Nagar police station and CIA teams are seriously investigating this case.

According to the police, the girl was residing in the labour quarter located adjacent to the factory and at the time of the incident, her parents were at work and only her grandmother used to be there in the room to take care of her.

As per her grandmother, the girl went outside the room to play and suddenly went missing. When she went outside the quarter to check, she couldn’t find her. Later, she climbed upstairs to check on her at the rooftop but she was shocked to find the lifeless body of the girl on the tin-roof of the adjacent factory.

According to the police, the girl seemed to be sexually assaulted and then she was thrown from at least 10 feet and she suffered a head injury. The police suspected a neighbour of rape and murder, however, the police lodged an FIR against the unidentified accused.
