Union Minister Ashwini Vaishnav announces New Software Techonology for Amritsar, boost city IT hub prospects

On this, Minister of State for Electronics and Information Technology Jatin Prasad said that Amritsar is one of the special priorities of the government.

Amritsar: The Software Technology Park completed in 2022 in Amritsar will soon become functional. Amritsar MP Gurjeet Aujla raised a question about the IT Park during the Monsoon Session today on Thursday. In response, the Union Minister and the Minister of State have shared information about the planning of the Government of India on this.

MP Gurjeet Aujla said that the Software Technology Park in Amritsar will be completed in 2022. If we look at the geographical location of Amritsar, it is very close to Central Asia. It is a 2-3 hour flight from Amritsar to Central Asia. In today’s time, all the big cities have become busy. In such a situation, if Amritsar is given priority, then it will be beneficial. If Amritsar’s IT Park is made functional, then Amritsar can become hub for software export.

On this, Minister of State for Electronics and Information Technology Jatin Prasad said that Amritsar is one of the special priorities of the government. As far as IT is concerned, the Government of India has a plan. According to that, the state government has to give 2 acres of land. So far, 65 IT parks have been opened, out of which 57 are in tier-2 and tier-3 cities. Along with this, Minister Ashwini Vaishnav said that the park in Amritsar is ready and will be started soon.
