Ludhiana: A person working in a post office in Ludhiana died in a road accident. A speeding minibus driver hit him on Chandigarh Road. The name of the deceased is Jasdev Singh. He was going to work from home. The bus driver left the bus and fled from the spot.
Giving information to the police, Simranjit Singh, son of deceased Jasdev Singh, said that he was going to duty at JRSS Post Office in village Sunit with his father on Activa.
According to Simranjit, he was coming behind his father on a bike. As soon as he reached a little ahead of Grewal Pump on Chandigarh Road, a red-colored minibus number PB 10DE-2719 came from behind.
Bus driver hit his father. Jasdev Singh died on the spot. It has been learned that the death was due to internal head injury. However, the real cause of death will be known after the postmortem. The accused left the bus on the spot and fled.
The accused has been identified as Gurdev Singh, resident of village Cheema Hathur, currently Sarpanch of Tibba Colony, Police Station Jamalpur. The police of Police Station Moti Nagar is conducting raids to arrest the accused.
