Jalandhar: In a tragic incident, A truck without a number plate hit four friends travelling in a car near Iconic Mall in Model Town, a posh area of Jalandhar. Three friends suffered minor injuries in the incident while one suffered serious injuries and was admitted to SGL Hospital for treatment late at night.
After the incident, the truck driver fled away from the spot leaving his truck at the point. The accused truck driver was driving at such a high speed that he hit the divider in the middle of the road, after which the divider was also badly broken. The car was completely shattered.
Sukhman Deep Singh, one of the victims of the accident said that he is a resident of Mitthapur near Model Town. He had left his house for some work and was going towards Samvidhan Chowk (BMC Chowk) for some work. When he reached near Iconic Mall, the light on his side was green, so he started crossing the Chowk.
Meanwhile, a speeding truck came without looking at the lights and hit them badly, and then the truck collided with the divider on the road side. After the accident, before the car driver could control himself, the accused truck driver fled leaving his truck behind. Sukhman said that there was no number plate on the accused’s truck, due to which no information could be obtained about him till late night.
