Sri Hemkunt Sahib gates set to open for pilgrims on May 25th

This time the gates of Sikh holy place Sri Hemkunt Sahib in Chamoli district located in the Himalayas of Uttarakhand are being opened for pilgrims on May 25 and will be closed on October 10.

It is a pilgrimage site located at a height of about 16 thousand feet above sea level. According to sources, the winter snow melts by the month of May, due to which the place opens only in the months of June, July, August and September and remains closed for 7-8 months.

It is believed that more than 8 lakh devotees are likely to join this holy pilgrimage to Sachkhand Sri Hemkunt Sahib. This shrine is located at the highest point in the world.

Let us tell you that the work of removing the accumulated snow on the road leading to Sri Hemkunt Sahib, the famous pilgrimage place of the Sikh community, is going on very fast.

If you are planning to visit Hemkunt Sahib this year, get ready for your trip. Hemkunt Sahib will be opened for devotees on 25 May 2024.

Sources of Sri Hemkunt Sahib Gurdwara Management Committee said that during the bad weather, army personnel are engaged in removing snow from the road leading to Ghangaria and Lokpal Sahib.

The organizing committee said that the first group will leave from Rishikesh on May 22 for Sri Hemkunt Sahib Yatra under the leadership of Panj Pyaras. He said that the preparations for the yatra have started and the widening and repair work of footpaths on the yatra routes is being done rapidly.
