STF Jalandhar Action: Drug smuggler arrested held with over 10 Kg heroin in Amritsar

In Punjab, the team of Special Task Force (STF) Jalandhar, while taking action against drugs, has succeeded in arresting a drug smuggler in Amritsar with a large consignment. The STF team has arrested a local drug smuggler by raiding Amritsar.

The consignment recovered from the smuggler came from Pakistan. At present, the police have started action to arrest the main accused. The accused has been identified as Gurdev Singh, a resident of village Dhariwal Bagga, who is now living in village Mohan Bhandarian.

AIG Jagjit Singh Saro and DSP Inderjit Singh said that secret information was received about the accused. Based on this information, the police raided near Sohiyan Kalan Gurudwara on Fatehgarh Churian Road in Amritsar district. From where success was achieved in arresting the accused Bagga.

When the police searched, 10 kg 163 grams of heroin was recovered from him. Whose international value is being estimated at Rs 70 crore. STF DSP Indrajit Singh said that this could be a big smuggling network and the police is investigating it deeply.

Initial investigation has revealed that the accused Amandeep Singh is 12th pass and he had stepped into this smuggling business some time ago. It is being told that he was in debt and that is why he adopted this illegal path. During interrogation, it has also come to light that he was involved in the supply of drugs in Punjab and surrounding states.

The police is now trying to find out for whom Amandeep Singh worked and from where this consignment of drugs was brought. It is also being investigated who else is involved in this smuggling.
