Stopped from drinking alcohol, Nephew attacks uncle with Kirpan in Nurpur bedi

Roshan Lal and other family members, her uncle's son Lakhwinder Singh alias Lucky pelted stones

In a shocking incident, an angry nephew attacked his uncle with a kirpan after being stopped from drinking alcohol at the nearby Keema Bas Khad Rajgiri village. When he died after some time, the police registered a case of murder against the deceased’s nephew, sister-in-law, and his niece, who are among the 3 accused.

Harjit Kaur, the daughter of the deceased, said that on November 9, when she was present at home with her father Roshan Lal and other family members, her uncle’s son Lakhwinder Singh alias Lucky was swearing outside her house at around 11 o’clock in the night. He was accompanied by his mother Nachhatar Kaur and his sister Amarjit Kaur.

Lakhwinder Singh, standing in the street, attacked his uncle with a Kirpan. After this, Lakhwinder Singh, his mother and his sister attacked his father with stones and escaped. He said that Lakhwinder Singh was addicted to alcohol and his father used to prevent him from doing so.

The police chief said that the deceased Roshan Lal is a retired employee of the forest department while the accused Lakhwinder Singh works as a driver. He said that a case of murder has been registered against Lakhwinder Singh, his mother Nachhatar Kaur and sister Amarjit Kaur and proceedings have been initiated for their arrest.
