The heat is increasing continuously in Punjab. There was no rain even after the alert on Thursday. At the same time, an alert has been issued for rain across the state today. There are also chances of a hailstorm in Patiala district. Despite this, the temperature of the state continues to rise. In the last 24 hours, the temperature has increased by 0.7 degrees. It is to be noted that weather in Punjab has changed suddenly as light rain was seen across state in the morning.

The temperature of the state is 6.2 degrees Celsius above normal, which is considered extremely unusual. The highest temperature was recorded in Bathinda, where the mercury reached 42.8 degrees Celsius. Heat also showed its effect in other cities of the state, with Patiala recording 39.5°C, Ferozepur 39.0°C and Ludhiana 38.6°C.

There is a possibility of lightning and strong winds (40-50 kmph) in the areas of Bagha Purana, Faridkot, Moga, Ferozepur, Zira, Shahkot, Jagraon. A warning of bad weather and rain has also been issued in the areas of Mansa, Sunam, Sangrur, Barnala, Tappa, Dhuri, Malerkotla, Talwandi Sabo, Malout, Bathinda, Gidderbaha, Rampura Phul, Jaitu, Sri Muktsar Sahib, Jalalabad, Payal, and Ludhiana.

An alert has been issued regarding rain in Punjab today also. According to this, there is a possibility of strong winds and rain in Amritsar, Pathankot, Gurdaspur, Tarn Taran, Ferozepur, Muktsar, Kapurthala, Jalandhar, Hoshiarpur, SAS Nagar, Rupnagar, Fatehgarh Sahib, Nawanshahr, Ludhiana, Moga, Barnala, Mansa, Bathinda, and Muktsar of Punjab. At the same time, an alert has also been issued for rain and hailstorm, along with strong winds in Patiala.
