Suicide bid fails; woman jumps from elevated road, suffers fracture

Ludhiana, September 13: Just seven months after her marriage, a woman attempts to end her life by jumping from the elevated road on clock tower road but she failed in her attempt and suffered a fracture on her leg. As the woman at present is not in condition to talk, the reason behind her attempt.

Just seven months after her marriage, a woman attempts to end her life by jumping from the elevated road on clock tower road but she failed in her attempt and suffered a fracture on her leg.

As the woman at present is not in condition to talk, the reason behind her attempt is yet unknown.

However, the woman had written the name and contact number of her husband on her palm and had also written ‘Majboori Thi’ (It was my compulsion).

According to the woman’s husband Sahil, who was at Civil Hospital, stated that he was at work when he learnt that his wife jumped from the elevated road near Gandhi Market and she was rushed to Civil Hospital. “So, I came here to know her condition and even to know why she took this step,” he said.

He added that it has been around 6-7 months of their marriage and refused that he had no recent spat with his wife. According to him everything was fine and he was even shocked to know about the step taken by her.

However, the matter has reached the police and Division number 4 police have initiated investigation into the matter. According to the police, they are trying to know the reason behind the suicide bid and required action will be taken only after recording the statement of the woman.
