Encounter between police and gangster’s henchmen in Tarn Taran, one injured

The accused has been identified as Gurlal Singh, son of Satnam Singh, resident of village Rajoke Tarn Taran.

An encounter took place between the police and a shooter last night near the village of Bhullar in Tarn Taran. The shooter was injured in the police retaliatory firing. The police have arrested him and admitted him to the hospital. The shooter is said to be a henchman of gangster Lakhbir Singh Landa Harike.

A 32 bore pistol has been recovered from the henchman of the gangster caught by the police. The accused has been identified as Gurlal Singh, son of Satnam Singh, resident of village Rajoke Tarn Taran. The arrested miscreant used to carry out firing incidents to intimidate people if they did not pay ransom.

SSP Deepak Pareek gave information that the police of the CIA staff had received information that an accused who works as a ransom demander on the behest of terrorist Lakhbir Singh Landa Harike, who is sitting abroad, is roaming in the area. He said that when the police set up a checkpoint near village Bhullar Canal on the basis of information, a youth riding an unregistered motorcycle was signaled to stop, who started firing at the police party.

Meanwhile, in the police’s retaliatory firing, the betel shooter was injured by a bullet in the leg. SSP Deepak Pareek said that this accused is an accomplice of the accused Gurbir Singh, who was arrested by the police recently. He said that both of them have carried out many incidents for ransom.
