Temperature in Punjab is 2.8°C above normal; rain expected from April 9

The temperature in Punjab has remained above normal for the last week. In the last 24 hours, the maximum temperature has increased by an average of 0.5 degrees Celsius, while the maximum temperature of the state was recorded 2.8 degrees Celsius above normal.

According to the Meteorological Department, an alert has also been issued regarding heat wave in Punjab from tomorrow.

The highest temperature of 36.2 degrees Celsius was recorded in Patiala, which is 4.1 degrees Celsius above normal. At the same time, the temperature of all the districts of the state is more than 30 degrees Celsius.

The effect of heat was also felt in other major cities of the state. The maximum temperature in Chandigarh was recorded at 35.8 degrees Celsius, while Ludhiana recorded 35.1 degrees Celsius and Amritsar recorded 32.5 degrees Celsius. Bathinda recorded a temperature of 33.6 degrees Celsius.

According to the Meteorological Department, the temperature may increase further in the coming days. The temperature of the state may increase by 3 to 5 degrees in the coming three days.

Tomorrow heat wave will prevail in 5 districts of the state

An alert has also been issued regarding the heat wave in Punjab from tomorrow. The effect of the heat wave will be seen in 5 districts of Punjab – Fazilka, Muktsar, Bathinda, Mansa and Barnala. This alert will continue from April 6 to April 9.

Chances of rain from April 9

According to the data released by the Meteorological Department, there is a possibility of rain in Punjab from April 9 to provide relief from the increasing heat. Such weather will be seen from the night of April 9 and there will be chances of rain in the coming days.
