Jalandhar: After a slight relief from rain in Punjab, the temperature has started rising again. In 24 hours, an average increase of 2 degrees Celsius has been recorded in the maximum temperature in the state. However, the temperature is still around normal, due to which severe heat like conditions are not being seen yet. But, the second round of heat-wave is starting from 16 April. While there are chances of rain again on 18 April.
According to the Meteorological Department, Bathinda recorded the highest maximum temperature of 37.7 degrees Celsius in the state, which was the highest in entire Punjab. Apart from this, Patiala recorded 34°C, Ferozepur 34.2°C, Ludhiana 35.5°C and Pathankot 33.9°C.
The maximum temperature in Chandigarh city was 32.3°C, which was 1.8°C below normal. At the same time, Amritsar recorded a temperature of 33.5°C and Hoshiarpur recorded a temperature of 33.4°C. The Meteorological Department says that the temperature may increase further in the coming days. The department has advised farmers and common citizens to keep an eye on the changes in the weather and take necessary precautions.
The effect of the heat wave will last for two days
After a few days of relief, the Meteorological Department has once again issued a heat wave alert in the state. According to the Meteorological Department, this is the second round of heat wave in the state. During this period, strong hot winds can blow. This round will start from April 16 and its effect can be seen on April 17 as well.
