Threat to blow up Golden Temple for the third consecutive day

In view of the continuous threats, the Shiromani Gurdwara Parbandhak Committee (SGPC) has increased the security of the Sri Harmandir Sahib complex.

Sri Harmandir Sahib has once again received a bomb threat. This threatening email has been received for the third time in 72 hours, after which the police have made strict security arrangements in the area around Sri Darbar Sahib, and every suspicious object and person is being investigated under the search operation.

Let us tell you that before this, on July 14 and 15, emails threatening to blow up and explode the Langar Hall of Sri Darbar Sahib were received. Then, on July 16, according to SGPC President Harjinder Dhami, 3 threatening emails were received.

In view of the continuous threats, the Shiromani Gurdwara Parbandhak Committee (SGPC) has increased the security of the Sri Harmandir Sahib complex. Bomb disposal squads and sniffer dogs have been deployed there to ensure strict investigation.

Harjinder Singh Dhami expresses apprehension about threats

SGPC President Harjinder Singh Dhami, while taking stock of the situation, said, “The administrators have received three threatening emails in the last three days, the information of which has been given to Punjab Chief Minister Bhagwant Mann. Amritsar MP Gurjit Singh Aujla has also been informed, but no appropriate action has been taken by anyone yet.” He added, “There could be a conspiracy behind these threats to reduce the number of devotees.” He has demanded early action against the accused.

Both the SGPC and Amritsar Police are on high alert. The full details of the emails have not been made public due to security reasons.

Police and paramilitary forces have been deployed around the Sri Harmandir Sahib complex and a strict watch is being kept on everyone coming and going there. Meanwhile, Police Commissioner Gurpreet Singh Bhullar said that some important clues are expected to be found soon in this case. He said, “We are very close to solving the case soon.”
