A mother and her one-and-a-half-year-old daughter died in a tragic road accident on the National Highway of Mandi Gobindgarh in Fatehgarh Sahib, Punjab. Sukhwinder Kaur Kirti of Khanna was returning from her in-laws’ house in Sirhind on a scooty with her daughter Aaliya and husband Tarun Kumar.
A truck hit her scooty on the service road near Chowra Bazaar in Mandi Gobindgarh. In the accident, Sukhwinder Kaur and Aaliya fell on the road and the truck passed over them. Due to this both of them died on the spot. Tarun Kumar fell on the other side and got seriously injured, and was immediately admitted to the Civil Hospital of Mandi Gobindgarh.
Police took possession of the truck, investigation started
The sad thing about the incident is that the birthday of the deceased girl Aaliya was celebrated just a day before on February 12. As soon as Sukhwinder Kaur’s brother-in-law Gagandeep Singh got the information about the accident, he immediately reached the spot. The police have taken the truck into their custody and started investigating the case.
