Trans-border illegal arms network busted by Amritsar Police; 8 arrested, drugs along with firearms seized

Amritsar: In a major breakthrough, Amritsar Commissionerate Police busted a trans-border illegal arms & narco-terrorism hawala racket. Getting big success, Amritsar police arrested a total of 8 accused.

The information was shared by Punjab DGP Gaurav Yadav. He shared the information through a post on X.

DGP Yadav said that FIR under NDPS Act has been registered against the accused arrested. He further added that Investigation i on-going to establish backward & forward linkages.

Making mention of the recovery by Police, it was said that Amritsar Police recovered 4.1 Kg Heroin. Firearms including, three pistols and 45 live cartridges were also recovered.

The Police have also recovered drug money worth Rs 2.07 Lakh drug money along with 7 vehicles.

DGP Yadav mentioned that @PunjabPoliceInd is committed to dismantle the drug networks and make state drug-free as per the directions of CM @BhagwantMan.

Trans-border Narcotic Smuggling network busted

Earlier on June 11, CI Amritsar, launched an operation against the narcotic smuggling network. In the operation, CI-Amritsar had apprehended two persons and seized 7.5 Kg Heroin, 16 live cartridges & 1 Motor-Cycle. Pakistan based drug smuggler was also involved who used to send drugs through drones.
