An elderly man riding an Activa died after being hit by a truck near Adampur in Jalandhar. He has been identified as Tarsem Singh, a resident of Sainik Vihar located in Rama Mandi, Jalandhar. The police have taken his body into custody and sent it to the Civil Hospital in Jalandhar for a postmortem.
The police have registered a case regarding the accident and have taken the truck into custody. The police is investigating the matter as to who was at fault in the accident and what is the reason behind this accident. The police is engaged in searching for the driver who fled from the crime scene.
The elderly had gone to Adampur from home for personal work
According to the information received, this accident took place near the Sagar Hotel located in Adampur town of Jalandhar. The said truck driver hit the elderly’s Activa on the Bull located near Sagar Hotel, and then the elderly came under the grip of the rear part of the truck. Immediately after the incident, the accused driver fled from the spo,t leaving the truck.
Family members said that Tarsem Singh had come to Adampur for some personal work. He was returning home after finishing his work. During this time the accident happened. The passersby present on the spot informed the police about the incident. Adampur police has kept the body in the mortuary.
