Ludhiana: Two youths who left for Ludhiana on a Bullet motorcycle from Goraya in Jalandhar without informing their families met with an accident while returning. One died after being hit by an unknown vehicle while the other was seriously injured. The deceased was identified as Pargun Verma (17), who died on the spot.
Parjay Arora’s condition remains critical. He is undergoing treatment in the hospital. With the help of passersby, both were taken to the Civil Hospital. Where doctors declared Pargun dead. The accident took place near GT Road in Khaira village. After the collision, the driver fled from the spot.
ASI Sarabjit Singh, posted on PCR patrol, reached the spot as soon as the information about the accident was received. He said that Initially Pargun was breathing, but on reaching the hospital he was declared dead. His team informed the Phillaur police station and took the victims to the hospital.
ASI Subhash Chandra of Phillaur police station said that the accident took place between Preet Basant Petrol Pump and DS Dhaba located outside Khaira village. Eyewitnesses informed the police about this. However the vehicle that hit the bike could not be identified. The deceased Parag Verma was a resident of Dhaliwal Enclave, Jalandhar.
