Himachal Path Parivahan Nigam (HRTC) buses have been vandalized again in Punjab. According to information, unknown people broke the windows of HRTC buses parked at Hoshiarpur-Amritsar bus stand at night. Also, objectionable words/slogans have been written on the buses with paint. This has created an atmosphere of panic among HRTC drivers and conductors. In such a situation, HRTC can again stop the operation of buses for Punjab. The Corporation Employees Union has raised the demand to ensure security from the management.
After the Kharar incident, on the request of Chief Minister Sukhwinder Singh Sukhu, Punjab Chief Minister Bhagwant Mann had assured to provide security. But attacks on buses have started again. In such a situation, there is an atmosphere of panic among the passengers as well. HRTC Managing Director Dr. Nipun Jindal said that a case of objectionable slogans written on four buses has come to light at Amritsar bus stand last night. The front windows of three of these buses have been broken. This matter has been raised before the Amritsar Police. These include buses on Amritsar-Bilaspur, Amritsar-Sujanpur, Amritsar-Jwala Ji and Amritsar-Hamirpur routes in the morning.
It is worth mentioning that a few days ago, objectionable flags on the bikes of devotees coming from Punjab in Kullu district were removed. The controversy deepened over this. In the same sequence, last Tuesday, supporters of Bhindranwale pasted Bhindranwale’s photos on HRTC buses and private buses in Hoshiarpur, Punjab. On March 18, there was an attack on the flyover in Kharar, Mohali. In this regard, senior officials of Police Headquarters Shimla held talks with the Special Director General of Police, Law and Order of Punjab to resolve the matter.
