Vidhan Sabha session by Punjab Govt on June 19-20 is valid: Supreme court

New Delhi: In a recent development in the hearing of petition filed by Punjab Government against the Governor of the state Banwarilal Purohit, SC has called the Vidhan Sabha session conducted by Punjab Assembly on June 19 and 20 as Valid. Supreme Court while referring the session as valid said, governor of Punjab must proceed.

New Delhi: In a recent development in the hearing of petition filed by Punjab Government against the Governor of the state Banwarilal Purohit, SC has called the Vidhan Sabha session conducted by Punjab Assembly on June 19 and 20 as Valid. Supreme Court while referring the session as valid said, governor of Punjab must proceed to take decisions on bills which were submitted for his assent. SC said, “Governor of Punjab must now proceed to take decisions on bills submitted for assent which were passed by the house conducted on June 19-20 2023 which was constitutionally valid.”
