Vigilant BSF: BSF recovers 7 drones, 3 Kg heroin in last one day from border areas

BSF is preventing the smuggling of narcotic substances from across the border and thwarting Pakistani smugglers' nefarious designs.

Amritsar: In last one day, BSF troops have demonstrated impressive teamwork, dedication, and vigilance on the border. In Punjab, BSF troops have downed 7 drones (5 on the Amritsar border and 1 each on the Fazilka and Gurdaspur border) and seized 2.996kg of heroin.

BSF is preventing the smuggling of narcotic substances from across the border and thwarting Pakistani smugglers’ nefarious designs.

BSF has been making the highest-ever recovery of Pakistani drones, narcotics, and arresting smugglers now more than ever before, showing its dedication and commitment to the peace and security of the nation.

Drone Recovered in Amritsar

On 5th May 2024, during the night hours, based on information about the presence of a drone in border area of district Amritsar, BSF troops in collaboration with Punjab police carried out an extensive search operation. During the joint search operation, at about 09:20 pm, troops successfully recovered 01 drone from a farming field of village Roranwala in Amritsar District.

Drugs along with drone recovered in Fazilka

On 5th May 2024, during the night hours, vigilant BSF troops, promptly responding to a buzzing sound of a suspected drone, rushed to the anticipated dropping border area of district Fazilka and carried out an extensive joint search operation with Punjab Police. During search operation at about 11:50PM, BSF troops and Punjab police successfully recovered 01 drone in damaged condition along with 01 huge packet (Gross weight- 2.580 Kgs) of suspected heroin. The narcotics were wrapped with yellow adhesive tape. Upon opening the big packet, 03 small packets of suspected heroin were found inside it. This recovery took place in a farming field nearby Village- Chak Bazida, in district Fazilka.
