Raid by Wildlife Protection Department in Fazilka

Young men were caught doing pigeon racing, and the villagers made them aware.

Fazilka: In the village Nyola of Fazilka, young men were betting on pigeons under pigeon racing. When the Forest and Wildlife Protection Department got information about this, the officers raided the spot. Seeing the police, there was a stampede among the young men betting on pigeons, and they ran away from the spot. However, some young men were caught and were let off after warning. After this, they were also made aware by the department’s employees.

Giving information, the Forest and Wildlife Protection Department’s security guard, Khushwant Singh, said that the department had received a complaint that 30 to 40 young men were betting through pigeon racing in village Nyola. Under which, when the department raided the spot, the young men started running away from the spot. However, some youths were caught. After which, they were released after being given a warning.

Khushwant Singh says that Fazilka falls in the Abohar Wildlife Sanctuary area. Which has a different law, and therefore, while making the youth aware, a warning is also being given that if anyone indulges in pigeon-flying, appropriate action will be taken against him.
