Gurdaspur: BJP has announced the names of its candidates on 6 seats in Punjab. BJP has fielded Dinesh Singh Babbu from the Gurdaspur Lok Sabha constituency.
Meanwhile, workers have been protesting following the announcement of Dinesh Singh Babbu from Gurdaspur. Late Actor Vinod Khanna won Gurdaspur Lok Sabha seat 4 times. In the 2019 elections, BJP fielded actor Sunny Deol from the seat who secured a huge win over then-congress leader Sunil Jakhar.
Kavita Khanna, wife of Vinod Khanna was considered a strong contender for the Gurdaspur Lok Sabha seat. After the death of the actor, Kavita Khanna has been serving people for the last many years. It was expected that BJP would field wife of the Late actor but what came as a shocker was a ticket to Dinesh Singh Babbu.
On the other hand, Kavita Khanna has hinted on to serving people and remain active in politics. She said that has been serving people in Gurdaspur for last many years. She said people have given her love as family and therefore she will continue to serve people.
While hinting at contesting elections, she said 70 to 80 percent people of the constituency want her as the member of parliament.
