Amritsar: Election Commission confiscates 226 voter cards

Police filed case against father and son; FIR also filed against Amritpal's polling agent.

Punjab: Election Commission has seized 226 voter cards from a single house in Amritsar, Punjab. This entire action was taken by the Election Commission. According to the information received, the flying teams of the Election Commission had received information about the accused. On the complaint of the Election Commission, the police have registered a case against Rajinder Pal, a resident of Jayantipur, Amritsar and his son Amandeep Kumar.

SDM Majitha cum Assistant Returning Officer informed the police that 226 voter cards have been seized from the house of Rajinder Pal, a resident of Jantipur and his son Amandeep Kumar. The flying team of the Election Commission had received information about this.

After which a raid was conducted at his house by the team. These voter cards were seized from the house during the search. At present, both are absconding and the police is conducting raids to arrest them. The police have registered a case under the Representation of People Act 1951.

At the same time, in Jandialaguru, which comes under Khadoor Sahib Lok Sabha, a multi-health worker Balbir Singh had to pay a heavy price for supporting Khalistan supporter Amritpal. Actually, Balbir Singh became Amritpal’s polling agent in village Jhand. When the Election Commission got information about this, a case has been registered against Balbir Singh in Jandialaguru police station.
