Threat of diarrhea and cholera in Mohali: 21 patients so far, DC ordered investigation

Now water samples are being taken in this entire area.

Mohali: Due to water pollution in the rainy season in Mohali, the number of diarrhoea and cholera patients has started increasing. So far, one case of cholera and 20 cases of diarrhoea have been reported. Out of which, 8 patients with diarrhoea and 1 patient with cholera are undergoing treatment in Mohali Hospital. This disease is increasing due to polluted water in the village of Kumbhra in Mohali. Mohali DC Ashika Jain has visited the spot and ordered the officials to investigate and take measures to prevent it as soon as possible.

The officials of the Municipal Corporation and Water Supply and Sanitation Department present on the spot told DC Ashika Jain that people have built underground water tanks to store water in their homes. As the water is not being cleaned regularly. Therefore, the water inside them is getting polluted.

Instructions have been given to the officials that, until the disease is controlled, drinking water should be supplied to the people through tankers. For this, orders have also been given to organize health camps regularly in the area. The administration is afraid that if this disease spreads like this, it may go out of control. Therefore, it should be controlled at the initial stage itself.

At the same time, instructions have also been issued to make proper arrangements for such patients in the civil hospital. The DC has advised people to use water only after boiling it during this season. Chlorinated water should be used for drinking.
