New Delhi: The effect of western disturbance can be seen in many parts of country in form of sudden weather changes. The India Meteorological Department (IMD) has issued a varied warning of heavy rain and heatwaves in some places.
The IMD has forecast rain and snow accompanied by thunder, lightning and gusty winds in some areas of Jammu and Kashmir, Ladakh and Himachal Pradesh.
The Meteorological Department has also predicted strong winds in the areas of Punjab, Haryana, Chandigarh, Delhi and Uttar Pradesh on April 16 and 17.
Moderate rain with thunder and lightning may occur in different parts of Arunachal Pradesh, Assam and Meghalaya on April 16 and April 17. Parts of Punjab, Rajasthan, Haryana, Delhi, West Uttar Pradesh and Madhya Pradesh may experience light to moderate rain with dust storm and hailstorm.
Weather for the next 24 hours
According to Skymet Weather, light to moderate rain and snow along with some heavy rain and snow is likely to occur over the Western Himalayas during the next 24 hours. Parts of Punjab, Rajasthan, Haryana, Delhi, West Uttar Pradesh and Madhya Pradesh may experience light to moderate rain with dust storm and hailstorm.
Some moderate rain with thundershower and hailstorm may occur at isolated places over Marathwada, Vidarbha, Orissa, Jharkhand, Bihar and North West Bengal. Sikkim, Assam, Arunachal Pradesh, Kerala, Tamil Nadu and Karnataka may experience light rain and thundershowers.
Heat Wave
According to the Meteorological Department, the people of the coastal areas of Odisha and Andhra Pradesh may face severe heat for the next five days. The IMD has also predicted a humid summer. Tamil Nadu, Puducherry and Karaikal regions are likely to experience humid summer from April 15 to April 18.
