On the first Monday of Sawan in Punjab, many districts of Punjab received rain. After this, the average temperature of the state has seen a decrease of 1.5 degrees. At present, the average temperature of the state is 2.8 degrees below normal. At the same time, no alert has been issued regarding rain anywhere in Punjab today (July 15).
It is estimated that even today, flash alerts can be issued by the Meteorological Department given the situation.
According to the Meteorological Center, there is no alert in Punjab today. But, for tomorrow, Wednesday, a yellow alert has been issued regarding rain in three districts of the state, Pathankot, Gurdaspur and Hoshiarpur. Whereas, the temperature and weather are expected to remain normal in the state for the next 6 days.
Water level in Bhakra, Pong and Thein Dams
As per the situation at 6 am on July 14, 2025, the water level in Bhakra, Pong and Thein Dams built on the three major rivers of Punjab, Sutlej, Beas and Ravi, appeared normal. The full filling level of Bhakra Dam on Satluj river is 1685 feet, and its maximum storage capacity is 5.918 million acre feet (MAF).
At present, its water level is recorded at 1593.61 feet and the quantity of water is 2.897 MAF, which is about 48.95 percent of its total capacity. Last year on the same day its water level was 1598.2 feet and storage was 3.004 MAF. As of date inflow of water in the Dam was 35,871 cusecs, and the outflow was 28,108 cusecs.
