At the same time, a drop of about 1 degree has been seen in the last 24 hours. The Meteorological Department has also issued a yellow alert for today. After which a drop of 2 to 3 degrees can be seen in the temperature today.
According to the Meteorological Department, a yellow alert has been issued in entire Punjab today. This alert is also about heatwave and along with it, it has also been issued regarding rain and dust storm. The temperature of most of the cities of the state is expected to be around 45 degrees today and hot winds will continue to blow.
There may also be strong winds, storms and rain in between, which will provide some relief from the heat. All these incidents are happening once again due to the activation of Western Disturbance.
Punjab’s temperature is 5.7 degrees above normal
After Bathinda, which was the hottest city in Punjab, Faridkot was reported to be the hottest city on Thursday. The temperature here was recorded at 48.3 degrees. Rajasthan’s Sri Ganganagar was also equally hot, which was reported to be the hottest city in the country. Even today the temperature here will be around 48 degrees, but a slight drop will be recorded in it.
On the other hand, if we talk about the average temperature of Punjab, the state is still 5.7 degrees above normal. Whereas in the last 24 hours, the average temperature has dropped by 1 degree.

Amritsar- The maximum temperature of the city was recorded at 45.4 degrees on Thursday. Even today this temperature is expected to be around 45 degrees.
Jalandhar- The minimum temperature was recorded at 43.8 degrees on Thursday. Today this temperature is expected to be around 45 degrees.
Ludhiana- The minimum temperature was recorded at 45.6 degrees yesterday. It is expected that today this temperature will be around 45 degrees.
Patiala- The minimum temperature of the city was recorded at 46.2 degrees yesterday. Today it is expected to fall by 1 degree and the temperature will remain around 45 degrees.
Mohali- The maximum temperature recorded on Thursday was 44.6 degrees. Today this temperature is expected to remain around 45 degrees.
